RYA Powerboat Racing Gold Awards
2006
Chris Strickland, John Puddifoot, Jan Falkowski and Gordon Compton received rapturous applause for their three World Records for London to Monte Carlo, Gibraltar to Monte Carlo and London to Gibraltar setting records of 39.07mph, 37.65mph and 41.95mph respectively in Chris’ Scorpion RIB cruiser. 2006
Southern Isles World Record Smashed - The father and son powerboat racing team of Mike and Dave Deacon from Burley have set a new World Record for this course. The RYA approved track encompasses the Isle of Wight, Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey and the Scilly Islands to total 535 nautical miles. Mike and Dave used their rigid inflatable boat (RIB) Hot Lemon to set a time of 9 hours 57 minutes 36 seconds (subject to official confirmation) thoroughly beating the previous record of 20 hours 32 minutes.

Winner of Brass Monkey Race and the Winter Gold Cup
2005
Round Britain World Record for a boat under 30 feet. Winner of the Open Class for the RIB Gold Cup in Cowes. A distance of 1360 nautical miles was covered in a staggering 31 hours.

Round British Isles World Record broken by Chris Strickland, John Puddifoot, Jan Falkowski and Gordon Compton. This arduous course of 1850 nautical miles was completed in 72 hours.
